Thank you for checking out MV SOUND SPACE! Hi! My name is Margarita, and since I come from a talented musical family, I was exposed to music from the time I was born. Every person in my immediate and (maternal) extended family plays at least one musical instrument (either from training or by ear.) Since it's in my genes, my sensitivity to music started to become apparent when I was a toddler. My family used to find it amusing when I would cry at a sad song played in minor, and smile when listening to a cheerful, happy melody. After learning how to play piano by ear at the age of six, several years of studying violin after, and over thirty years later, that sensitivity to music remains with me still today. But it expresses itself in a different form.
Music is now my main source of inspiration and motivation for anything in life! Listening to beautiful melodies has the most extraordinary power to impact my day, and make me accomplish things I had never thought possible! Music is my therapy! It has the ability to ease any pain I may have, and it allows me to escape into an amazing and extraordinary world. Listening to beautiful music inspires: creative visions, film scenes and even ideas for screen plays. Simple songs have been responsible for making me create music videos and shoot short documentaries. But despite all that, I never thought I would become a composer. Until… Several years ago, I was given a music composition software kit as a holiday gift...It happened to be during a difficult time when my grandpa had just suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke, and my dad was involved in a car accident. Being naturally drawn to the movie theme “loops”, I started putting them together, combining the ones that expressed the turmoil I had felt inside. When the piece was done, and my family and I listened to it, it sounded like nothing other than the soundtrack to that fateful night of the stroke and the accident . |
Although it was difficult, the experience of composing Flashbacks From November Rain and expressing my feelings and memories through music proved to be very soothing and healing. Sadness From November Rain was my next creation, and it was inspired by the memories of the entire ordeal. Thanks to having these musical samples, an opportunity was presented to compose a film soundtrack to a rough cut of the short independent film The Fay. To my surprise, the creative process of composing this film score came very natural to me.
If the definition of a "film composer" is someone who understands both the music and human emotions on a deep level, and who is blessed with an ability to put them together, then that's the right description for who I am.
Thank you so much for reading!
I hope you enjoy what you hear and I welcome any of your questions and feedback.
